Zahnklinik der Universität Peking entwickelt personalisierte Zahnimplantate””

Die Gruppe von TANG Zhihui entwickelt eine Methode, die extrahierte Zähne durch 3D-gedruckte Implantate ersetzt. Dabei wird der zu extrahierende Zahn vor der Operation mittels Dentalkegelstrahl-Computertomographie (CBCT) vermessen und die 3D-Daten mit einem 3D-Drucker synchronisiert, der eine Kopie des ursprünglichen Zahnes einschließlich der Wurzel zur Verfügung stellt. Nach der Extraktion des ursprünglichen Zahnes wird das gedruckte Zahnimplantat durch einen Metallnagel mittels minimal-invasiver Chirurgie am Alveolarknochen befestigt. Für den Patienten ist das Trauma klein, die Reparaturzeit kurz und die Kosten werden deutlich reduziert. Das Team von TANG Zhihui hat die präklinische Phase abgeschlossen und keine schwerwiegenden Nebenwirkungen in Tierversuchen beobachtet. Das Projekt wird noch in diesem Jahr in klinische Studien überprüft, bevor es in die Massenproduktion und Anwendung geht.
