The Gansu center will take the lead to establish the most comprehensive national center for microbial resources, for microbial preservation and immobilization techniques. It will tightly cooperate with the CAS Institute of Modern Physics, Lanzhou, which is strongly engaged in microbial breeding by heavy ion irradiation techniques.
