In 2012, the Chinese fermentation industry growth was slowing, with a product output of 23 million tons, up 6.0% from a year earlier. Gross industrial output value amounted to more than 270 billion yuan, up 8% from a year earlier. Amino acids and enzymes maintained a double-digit growth, organic acids, yeast, starch sugar, polyols increased slightly.
