China’s nationwide ban on the production, sale and use of plastic shopping bags with thickness less than 0.025 mm seems to have faltered, within 5 years there was a reduction of just 10 %. A major reason is that farmers’ markets did not comply and are difficult to control. Stricter rules will be implemented in this domain.
