Experts at the forum deplored that presently 50 % of marine aquaculture is lost by diseases. Due to the wide use of antibiotics and synthetic drugs, China exports only limited aquaculture products. A change to vaccines such as the Edwardsiella tarda attenuated live vaccine for turbots was strongly advocated.
