Zhangye City in Gansu Province the first city to ban GM tests and production of GM agricultural products

Zhangye is an important corn-producing area (nearly ¼ of agricultural production). The ban comprises the use of genetically modified seeds business activities, farmers using fertilizers and pesticides related to GM food, veterinary drugs and additives, illegal food additives, and the use of agricultural super standard products.
