According to the State Council’s Notice of bio-industry development plan”, China will, by 2015 , occupy a favorable position in the global competitive landscape of the industry, and develop a national economy pillar industry in biotechnology by 2020. Institutions involved will be China Agricultural University , National Engineering Research Center for Marine Drugs , Hebei Kang Rui Lipid Ltd, and others, taking advantage of crude fish oil, fish meal plants, transesterification reactions, ultra-low temperature crystallization technology etc. to produce high levels of EPA, DHA fish oil triglycerides as “National Key New Products””
