The project is within the 973 program and will be largely done by the Chinese Academy of Science. Project leader is Academician LI Can. The program will include wide spectral response photocatalytic materials and hydrogen reaction systems, efficient artificial enzymes which release hydrogen and oxygen, development of ultrafast spectroscopy and in situ spectroscopy, and theoretical studies on solar-energy-based hydrogen production methods and conversion of CO2.
