China launches manned deep-sea submersible “Jiaolong” for Northwest Pacific voyage

The submersible is accompanied by its carrier and 45 members of staff. It dives over 7.000 m deep and is able to take mineral and biological samples from the deep sea floor. Its home base is Qingdao.
