A team at the Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry has published a map of „antibiotic pollution“ of Chinese rivers which shows that the Pearl River Basin has the worst pollution, but pollution in other rivers along the East coast is also very high. In some instances, amoxicillin concentration was found higher than 1 ng/l, as was the concentration of various quinolones.
