Ministry of Agriculture encourages the development of GEM crops with insect- and drought-resistance

Based on China’s good experience with heat- and insect resistant transgenic cotton which now has 96 % market share in China, the Ministry proposes studies on safety evaluation and management of GEM crops, in view of a growing population and global warming.
