Group at the Institute of Metal Research develops biocorrosion-resistant duplex stainless steel

The steel is based on duplex stainless steel (2205- Cu). In experiments with the marine organisms Pseudomonas aeruginosa over 7 days, 96.9% of the bacteria were killed and biofilms did not develop.
