CAS Chengdu Institute of Biology develops hydrolase for high activity in viscous media, application in biofuel production

The enzyme is from Mucor circinelloides and acts on viscous dispersions of potato mash, sugar cane, sweet sorghum often used for bioethanol fermentation. The patent strain has been deposited at Netherlands CBS.
