The instrument, called Revolocity BGISEQ-500, will be delivered from February, 2017, and is one third less expensive than comparable instruments. It uses advanced combined probe anchor polymerization technology (cPAS) and DNA nanoparticles (DNB) sequencing technology. An icon touch operating system, compatible with automatic sample tracking management, provides optimized process guidance, and a card type sequencing chip integrated into the sequencing kit containing prefabricated high precision micro machining allows for 10 hours of automatic sample loading and sequencing in unattended mode. If equipped with an optional automated sample preparation system, the entire process including sample preparation is complete in 18 hrs.
