Tongji University researchers achieve autologous pulmonary stem cell transplantation

The group around LIU Guang-Hui at Tongji University in Shanghai has expanded airway basal cells isolated from bronchodilator patients collected at the time of bronchoscopy. After expansion and implantation in the donor patient, pulmonary functions improved.
