According to a report by the State Health Planning Commission, Chinese companies mostly occupy the middle and low prize tier of medical devices, wheres the top tier is dominated by foreign brands which are considered about 15 years ahead in development. However, Chinese companies are catching up in this segment as well and make quick advances in areas such as orthopedics and cardiovascular interventional devices, implantable devices and artificial organs.
