In 2015, China’s energy generation from renewables was 12 %, of which only 8 % came from biomass. According to the biomass energy development 135 plan” of the National Energy Board just released, by 2020, at the end of the 13th Five-Year Plan, biomass will account for 30% of renewable energy, exceeding the sum of photovoltaic and wind power, and major investments are earmarked to reach this goal.”
