The group of SONG Haiyun at CAS SIBS has developed a method based on functionalized nanodiamonds for the oral delivery of RNAse A. Functional RNase A delivered by this procedure caused apoptosis in enterocytes, stimulated regenerative divisions in intestinal stem cells and triggered intestinal remodeling, which significantly increased the number of stem cells and precursor cells in the intestine – a potential approach for corectal cancer therapy.
