China’s autonomous deep-sea robot reaches 4.500 m depth, explores minerals at seabed for up to 31 hours.

The robot “4500 m AUV” built by CAS Shenyang Institute of Automation has been successfully tested at the South China Sea during 15 trials for 35 days, going down to 4.500 m and exploring polymetallic sulphides and other seabed resources.
