Based on the assumption of a world population of 8.7 billion and China as No. 1 economic power which produces 1/3 of the value of global goods, BP predicts that by 2035 China’s energy demand will increase by 60 %, but coal consumption will drop to 51 %. Import dependence of China will raise by 2035 from 15 – 23 %.
