According to an interview of deputy director Lijun XIONG of CGMCC (China General Microbiological Culture Collection Center), the Center, located at the CAS Institute of Microbiology in Beijing and founded in 1979, a signatory of the Budapest Treaty in 1995, also hosts a gene library for about 10.000 strains. Stocks are usually preservied in liquid nitrogen.
