According to the National Innovation Index Report 2012, the 2012 R&D intensity has reached 1.98 % of GDP, highest among developing countries. According to the SC database, China published 147.000 papeers in 2011, second to the USA, and filed 526.000 patent inventions, accounting for 27,6 % of the world’s total.
